Publish a draft
Review what your draft changes, publish it to the live site from the toolbar or from chat, and check that it went live.
On this page
This applies when drafting is on for your business: changes have been collecting in a private draft, and you want them on the live site. If there is no Publish button on the Site page, drafting is off and every change already goes live on its own. Drafts and publishing explains the difference.
1. Check the draft preview
Open Site and switch the preview to Draft. Click through the pages you changed, on desktop and on the phone size (the device buttons above the preview). If the preview is blurred, it is still rebuilding from the last change; wait for it to clear.
2. Review the changes
Open the menu beside Publish and choose Review changes. It lists what the draft changes compared with the live site: each change with its description, the files it touched, and the lines that differ. If the draft backend has database changes too, the panel notes that they publish with the site.
You can publish or discard straight from this panel.
3. Publish
Click Publish. The button shows it is working, and the live site rebuilds over the next few minutes.
Or ask in chat: "publish my draft". Willo shows an approval card with what will ship; approve it and the publish starts. Willo only publishes when you ask.
4. Check it is live
Open your site at its own address, not the preview. Changes appear once the rebuild finishes. If you asked in chat, Willo can check the deploy for you: "is my publish live yet?"
Each publish is added to Version history, the clock icon beside Publish.
If a publish fails
The live site keeps serving the previous version, so visitors see nothing broken. Read the message the publish shows: most failures are temporary, so try again in a minute. If it keeps failing, ask Willo in chat to check the deploy, or contact support from the ? menu.
Changed your mind?
- Before publishing: Discard draft, in the menu beside Publish, throws away every unpublished change. It cannot be undone.
- After publishing: there is no one-click rollback. Undo the individual change from Business → Activity and publish again. See Undo a change.
