Run Willo on your own Anthropic key

On Growth and up, you can run Willo's AI work on your own Anthropic API key. Anthropic bills you for the tokens directly, at its own prices. Credits still cover builds, hosting and email, at their floor price, with nothing added for using your own key.

Before you start

• You need to be an admin or the owner of the organization.
• Use an API key from the Anthropic console. Claude Pro and Max subscriptions can't run other products, so their sign-in tokens don't work here.
• Your Anthropic account needs billing set up. Anthropic's monthly spending cap for your account applies to Willo's work too.

Add your key

1. Open your avatar and choose Team & organization.
2. Under AI key, paste your key and select Save and test.
3. Willo sends one tiny message on the key to check it, then shows your key's last four characters and its rate limits.

Saving a key doesn't move anything onto it. Willo keeps running on credits until you turn on Run Willo on this key.

What runs on your key

When Run Willo on this key is on, every business in the organization sends this work to your Anthropic account:

• chat
• builds and fixes
• AI agents and the Growth Engine
• automatic fixes after a failed publish

Some small background steps still run on Willo's own key and cost you nothing: naming chat threads, deciding how much effort a message needs, reveal kits, project notes and site migrations. The text those steps read goes to Willo's Anthropic account, not yours.

What you pay

• Anthropic bills you for the AI tokens Willo uses on your key.
• Willo charges credits only for the work Willo itself pays for: builds, workers, email campaigns and connector calls, at their usual floor, and at least 0.25 credits for a task. Chat that runs no task tools stays free.

The card shows This month on your key, estimated from what Willo sent to Anthropic. Your Anthropic billing page has the exact amount.

Daily limit on unattended work

AI agents, the Growth Engine and automatic fixes run with nobody watching, so they stop when your key has spent your daily limit in the last 24 hours. The limit starts at $25. Change it under AI key: it's a dollar amount, and setting it higher lets unattended work run longer each day.

When the limit is reached, unattended work pauses and the owner gets one email. It starts again by itself once the last 24 hours fall back under the limit, or as soon as you raise it. Chat keeps working either way.

If your key stops working

If Anthropic rejects your key, your account reaches its monthly spending cap, or you reach a spending limit you set in the Anthropic console, the chat turn stops and says which one happened. The card gives you two ways forward:

• Fix my key opens AI key, where you can test it again once it's fixed. Anthropic resets a monthly spending cap on the 1st, or you can raise it in the Anthropic console.
• Use Willo credits for now switches the organization back to Willo's key on the spot. Your key stays saved, so switching back is one click.

Unattended work pauses while the key is broken, and the owner gets one email. It picks up again on its next run once the key passes its test or you switch to credits.

Willo never moves your work onto its own key without you choosing it.

Remove your key

Under AI key, select Remove key. Willo switches back to credits in the same step. The owner of the organization gets an email whenever a key is added or the organization switches between its own key and credits.
