Decisions
The decision register keeps what was decided, why and how it turned out. How to read it, and how to answer the decisions waiting on you.
On this page
Every business makes a stream of choices: which audience to aim at first, what to charge, which channel to try. Willo keeps them in a decision register, so that a question settled in March isn't reopened in May by a conversation that has forgotten it.
What a decision records
Each entry holds:
- the question ("Should we offer a free trial?"),
- the decision ("No trial; a 30-day money-back guarantee instead"),
- the reasoning behind it,
- a type: strategic, operational, tactical, or resource allocation,
- Willo's confidence in it, shown as a percentage,
- and later, the outcome: what actually happened.
Three states
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Settled | Decided, and an outcome has been recorded. |
| Open | Decided, still waiting to see how it turns out. |
| Waiting on you | Willo has a recommendation but needs your approval before acting. |
Where to see them
- Business → Overview shows a Needs approval card when decisions are waiting on you. Review takes you to the Activity tab.
- Business → Activity lists decisions alongside everything else Willo has done, with the ones waiting on you marked, and the confidence of each.
- In chat, ask: "what decisions are waiting on me?" or "what did we decide about pricing, and why?"
Answering a decision
There is no approve button on the dashboard. You answer in chat: "On the free-trial question: go with the money-back guarantee" or "No, let's do a 14-day trial instead". Willo records your answer against the decision and carries on.
You settle decisions that are waiting on you, in chat (or through an AI agent you've connected to Willo). The Growth Engine and Agent Programs can record new decisions and work from settled ones, but they can't answer one on your behalf.
Recording your own decisions
You don't have to wait for Willo to ask. When you decide something that should stick, tell Willo to log it:
- "Log a decision: we only ship within the UK for now, because international postage wipes out the margin."
- "Record that the newsletter goes out on Thursdays."
Then later, when an outcome is clear, add it: "The Thursday newsletter decision: replies to the newsletter doubled." Outcomes are what make the register useful a year from now. A decision takes one outcome, so record it once the result is clear.
How Willo uses the register
Willo doesn't re-read every decision on every message. It looks the register up when a question touches an area where something was decided, and before proposing a change of direction. The most important standing decisions also belong in your business context, which Willo has in front of it all the time.
Logging and reading decisions is free.
