Change, pause or archive a program

Edit a saved program in chat, pause and resume it on the Agents tab, archive one you no longer need and bring it back.

All three need an owner or admin of the business. Changes happen in chat; pausing happens on the Agents tab; archiving works in either.

Change a program

Tell Willo what to change, naming the program: "Move the weekly digest to Fridays", "make the enquiry agent copy me on every reply".

  1. Willo opens the saved program and shows you its current instructions, so it edits what is there rather than rewriting from memory.
  2. It changes the fields you asked about and tells you what changed.
  3. Say "save it". Saving an edit is free.

To check the change, ask Willo to run it now and read the result. A test run is for drafts only.

The built-in Growth Engine can't be edited this way. Its settings are under Settings → Autonomy; see Growth Engine.

Pause and resume

On the Agents tab, open the program and click Pause. A paused program doesn't run on its schedule, its email address and webhook URL stop starting runs (a webhook caller gets 409), and Run now is off on the Agents tab. Asked for in chat, a run of a paused program asks before every step.

Resume switches it back on. If its tools changed since you last confirmed them, you confirm again.

Archive a program

Say "archive the weekly digest", or click Archive on the program's page. Archiving:

  • stops the program running, on every trigger (a run already going finishes);
  • moves it off the main list into Archived at the bottom of the Agents tab;
  • keeps its instructions, settings and run history.

Nothing is deleted. To bring one back, open Archived, then Restore, or ask Willo to restore it. A restored program comes back exactly as it was: one that was switched on starts running on its trigger again.

The built-in Growth Engine can't be archived, only paused.

If your plan changes

Agent Programs come with the Builder plan and up. If a business moves below that, its active programs pause the next time one is due to run, and its owners and admins get one email and a notification listing them. Nothing is deleted: you can still open the Agents tab to see them or archive them.

They don't restart on their own after an upgrade. An owner or admin switches each one back on.
