Change your Shopify catalog from chat
Ask Willo to add products, change prices and stock, make collections and create discount codes in your Shopify store, approving each change first.
On this page
With the Willo Shopify app connected, you can change your Shopify store by asking Willo. Every change goes to your live Shopify store, and your Willo site shows it after a short automatic rebuild.
Before you start
- Your store is connected with the Willo Shopify app: Settings → Connections shows the Shopify card as connected through the app. A store connected with a pasted Storefront token shows an Upgrade button instead; click it, approve the app in Shopify, and your site keeps running throughout. See Run a headless Shopify store.
- You are an owner or admin of the business, in the dashboard chat.
1. Ask for the change
Say what you want in plain words:
- "Add a 9' Classic Longboard at $649, was $749. 3 in stock. Use the photo I just attached."
- "Drop the Hydrogen snowboard to $699."
- "We got 12 more wax bars."
- "Make a Summer Sale collection with the three longboards."
- "Create a code SUMMER15 for 15% off, ending August 31, once per customer."
- "Turn off the BLACKFRIDAY code."
Willo looks the product up in your store first, so it uses your real names, prices and stock.
2. Approve the card
Willo shows a card before anything changes, and nothing happens until you approve it. The card reads your store as it is now:
- A price change shows the old and new price, for example
749.00 USD → 699.00 USD. - A stock change shows the count before and after, at the location it applies to.
- A new product shows its price, starting stock and where it will be listed.
- A discount shows its value, what it applies to, its dates and its limits.
"Always allow" doesn't apply to these changes; each one asks. Willo reads a stock count again when you approve. If a sale changes it while the change is being written, nothing changes and Willo tells you. For a delivery, say how many arrived ("we got 12 more") rather than the new total, so sales in between are kept.
3. See it on your site
Your Willo site shows the change after an automatic rebuild, usually within about 10 minutes, and up to about 20 minutes when the site rebuilt from Shopify in the last 15. Willo's reply says how long. Rebuild site on the Shopify card in Settings → Connections works any time, except within 5 minutes of the last rebuild.
Discount codes don't change your site: buyers enter them at Shopify's checkout. A stock change only changes the site when an item sells out or comes back in stock.
Where new products are listed
New products and collections are listed on your Willo site only, and can be bought there as soon as the site rebuilds. To list one on your Shopify Online Store too, say so ("also put it on my Online Store"); the card shows where it will appear. You can also ask for a product to be saved as a draft, hidden everywhere until you make it active in Shopify. Willo doesn't change your other sales channels, such as Point of Sale or Shop.
What you can change
| Item | From chat |
|---|---|
| Products | Create one with a single variant: title, description, price, "was" price, SKU, starting stock, photos, tags, vendor, type, search listing, collections. Edit those later, add photos, change any variant's price, list it on or take it off the Online Store. |
| Stock | Set a count, or add or remove some, at a location. In a store with several locations, name the location. If Willo shows numbers instead of names, click Reconnect the Willo app on the Shopify card in Settings → Connections and approve location access; meanwhile give the number at the end of the location's page address in Shopify admin → Settings → Locations. |
| Collections | Create a manual collection with products. Rename it, change its description, image or search listing, add or remove products. |
| Discount codes | A percentage or fixed amount off the whole order, chosen products or chosen collections, with start and end dates, a total use limit, once per customer and a minimum order. Turn a code off. |
Photos must be public links. A photo you attach in chat is published first, then added.
