Documents are the longer pieces Willo writes for your business: the thinking behind it, not the pages on your site. They live in the Assets tab, in the Documents folder.

Kinds of document

KindExamples
StrategyYour business model: customer, pricing, revenue streams, how you'll find customers, risks.
Brand guidePositioning, headlines, value proposition, tone of voice.
MissionYour mission statement.
Report and analysisMarket research, competitor reviews, the results of a piece of work.
ProposalA plan or pitch you asked for.
PDFA designed PDF such as a guide, ebook, lead magnet or price list.
OtherAnything else you asked Willo to write up.

A business has one current strategy, one brand guide and one mission. When Willo writes a new one, the old version is archived rather than deleted.

Where they come from

Willo writes documents in your first session (see Get started with business records), and whenever you ask: "write up a competitor analysis", "draft a proposal for the café chain", "make a one-page PDF price list". The Growth Engine and Agent Programs also write documents as part of their work, for example a weekly research report.

Reading and editing

Open Assets in the left rail and choose the Documents folder. Each document can be downloaded. Text documents can be edited in place by an editor, admin or owner. Designed PDFs can't be edited there; ask Willo for a new version instead.

You can also work on a document in chat: "tighten the brand guide's tone of voice section" or "add a risk about supplier prices to the strategy".

Creating a document never needs approval. Changing or deleting one in chat does: Willo shows you what it will change and asks you to confirm, because document edits have no undo. Connected AI agents follow the same rule, with an approval card.

How documents are used

Documents are records for you and for Willo. They are not published on your site, and visitors can't see them. Designed PDFs are the exception when you ask: Willo can publish a PDF as a download on your site, such as a lead magnet, and that published copy is then public.

Willo reads your documents when the work calls for them, for example the brand guide before it writes a blog post in your voice, or the strategy before it plans the roadmap. Keeping them current keeps Willo's work on-brand.
