Connect Google and read your calendar
Connect Google Workspace, ask Willo what's on your calendar, add an event with a confirm, and what to do when you want this on a schedule.
On this page
This takes about five minutes. You need to be an owner or admin of the business, and connectors need to be open for it (see early access).
1. Connect Google Workspace
- Open Settings in the left rail, then Connections.
- On the Google Workspace card, click Connect.
- On Google's screen, pick the Google account whose calendar you want Willo to read. Use a shared business account if your team will ask about it too: everyone on the business uses the one connection.
- Review what Google lists, which covers Calendar, Docs, Sheets and the Drive files you choose, and click Allow.
- Back on Connections, the card says Connected.
If the card says Connected — needs more access, Google was given less than Willo asked for, usually because a box was unticked. Click Grant access and allow the rest.
2. Ask about your calendar
In Willo's chat, ask in plain words:
- "What's on my calendar tomorrow?"
- "When am I free for an hour next week?"
- "List this month's events with 'client' in the title."
Willo reads the calendar and answers. Reads never ask for confirmation.
3. Add an event
Ask: "Put a 30-minute call with Sam on Friday at 2pm on my calendar."
Willo shows a card, Google Calendar · Create event, with the title, the time and any attendees. Check it and confirm. An event can send invitations, so every calendar change asks, every time, and there is no Always allow for it.
If you mention an attendee's email, Google sends them an invitation from your account when you confirm.
4. Use it with your site and documents
The calendar works alongside the rest of the business. For example:
- "Write a Google Doc summarising next week's bookings." Creating a new doc doesn't ask.
- "Draft a blog post announcing the workshops on my calendar this month." The post is drafted in your CMS, from what the calendar says.
On a schedule
Connected accounts work in Willo's chat, not in Agent Programs. For calendar work that repeats:
- Ask in chat when you need it. A quick "What's on this week?" on Monday morning reads the live calendar.
- Let your calendar tool start a program. Many booking tools, such as Cal.com, can call a URL when a booking is made. Point that at a program's webhook, and the program runs on each booking with the booking's details as its input.
Disconnect when you're done
To take the access back, open Settings → Connections, click Disconnect on the Google Workspace card, and confirm. See Consent and disconnecting.
