# Migration troubleshooting

> What to do when a site migration shows no scan card, says your site is too large, leaves pages out, or still loads images from your old site.

Migration is in Beta. Your current site is never changed by a migration, so none of these problems affect it. For how a migration works from start to finish, see [Migrate an existing site](https://www.willo.ai/docs/site/migrate-your-site).

## No site card after the scan

If the scan finished but no site card or brand card is on screen, tell Willo in chat that you can't see the card. It can scan your site again. You need the card to confirm the migration, so don't try to carry on without it.

## "Your site is bigger than a rebuild can cover"

The site card shows this when your site has more addresses than one migration can handle. You have two choices on the card:

- **Skip sections** the card suggests, such as duplicate copies of posts or old archives, until the site fits.
- **Tick Migrate the first** so many pages, and move the rest later with Willo.

## Pages are missing after the migration

If a large site didn't all fit in one migration, the banner says how many pages didn't make this pass and names some of them. Everything that was published is complete. Press **Ask Willo about the remaining pages** to bring the rest across in chat. Pages added this way are ordinary site work and use credits.

## Images still load from your old site

If some media files weren't copied in this migration, the banner says how many images or videos still load from your old host. They work for now, but they stop showing once you cancel your old platform. Press **Ask Willo to copy the remaining files** before you cancel.

## Buy buttons go to your old store

That is deliberate. Product pages carry over as pages, and their buy buttons link to your current store so sales keep working. To sell on the new site itself, connect Shopify or Stripe. The banner's **Set up selling on this site with Willo** button starts that in chat, or see [Payments](https://www.willo.ai/docs/payments/get-started).

## A form on the new site doesn't work

Your old form provider doesn't come across. On an exact rebuild, simple newsletter and contact forms are replaced with Willo's own form, which delivers to your Contacts. Search and login forms are removed, and other forms are left inert. Ask Willo in chat to wire up the ones you need.

## "Your migration hit a problem"

The banner offers a way forward when it can:

- **Migrate the pages we captured**: starts again from the pages already scanned.
- **Publish what we built**: puts the finished pages live. Sections that didn't make it can be added with Willo afterwards.
- **Try again**: starts again, picking up from saved work where there is some.

If none of these is offered, or it fails again, write to support@willo.ai with your site's address.

## You chose the wrong path

A migration can't be switched between **Rebuild my site exactly as it is** and **Bring my content, build me a fresh site** once you've confirmed it. Support can't switch it either. To get the other result, start a new migration and pick the other path.

## Old addresses don't redirect after you move your domain

Redirects are part of the migrated site, so they only matter once your domain points at it. If an old address gives a "page not found" after the move, contact support from **Help** (the **?** at the bottom of the left rail), or email support@willo.ai. Include the old address and the page you expected it to reach.

## Still stuck

Contact support from **Help**, or email support@willo.ai. Include your site's address and what the banner says.
