Your first session takes about a quarter of an hour, most of it Willo working while you watch or step away. At the end you have a live website, a brand, a plan and a business you can keep building in chat.

## 1. Sign up

Go to [willo.ai](https://www.willo.ai) and sign up with Google or your email address. There is no password: Willo signs you in with Google, or with a link and a one-time code it emails you. You start on the Free plan, with no credit card.

## 2. Describe your business

Write what you want to build in a sentence or two: what it is, who it's for, and anything you already know (a name, a price, a city). Willo works from this, so specifics help.

You'll see two tabs: **Start a new business** and **Migrate an existing site**. If you already have a site and want it brought across, choose **Migrate an existing site** and see [Migrate an existing site](https://www.willo.ai/docs/site/migrate-your-site). Migration is open to every account, in Beta.

## 3. Choose how to start

- **Build it now.** After up to two optional questions, Willo researches the market, creates a brand and builds a first version of the site.
- **Plan with Willo first.** Willo asks a few questions in chat to sharpen the plan. Then it shows the plan on a card, and you choose how much to build and approve it. On paid plans the card can offer a [full site build](https://www.willo.ai/docs/site/how-builds-run#the-full-site-build) of many pages in one run.

If you're unsure, plan first. A few answers up front save rework later.

## 4. Watch the first build

Willo does several things at once: research, naming and brand (for a new business), the documents that set your direction, a roadmap, and the website itself. The chat shows each step as it happens, and documents appear as cards you can open. It usually takes 5 to 15 minutes, and Willo emails you when it's done, so you can close the tab.

[What the first build ships](https://www.willo.ai/docs/start-here/what-the-first-build-ships) lists what you get for each kind of business.

## 5. Look at what you have

When the build finishes you're on the **Site** page: the chat on the left, a live preview of your site on the right. Things to do first:

- **Click through the site** in the preview, on desktop and phone sizes.
- **Fix wording you don't like** with **Edit text** (the T icon in the edit tools floating at the bottom of the preview). It's free.
- **Adjust colors and fonts** in the **Brand** drawer (the paintbrush icon, in the same toolbar). Also free.
- **Ask Willo for anything bigger**: "add an FAQ section", "the about page should tell our story", "make it feel warmer".
- **Read the roadmap** under **Business → Roadmap** to see what Willo plans next.

## What costs credits

Chatting, asking questions and reading are free. Work that produces something, such as research, a new page, a redesign or an email campaign, uses credits from your plan. The Free plan starts with a one-time grant. See [How credits work](https://www.willo.ai/docs/plans/how-credits-work).
